Retreat with the Cabrini Lay Missionaries in Ethiopia
On Sunday, August 31st, the Cabrini Lay Missionaries (CLMs) gathered for a retreat with Fr. Matewos Gajabo, O.F.M in Dubbo. The day was centered around the theme of gratitude, as Fr. Matewos guided us in reflecting on the importance of giving thanks to the Lord for His unconditional love and constant care. This reflection was especially wonderful as we were just five days away from celebrating the Ethiopian New Year.

Fr. Matewos encouraged us to look back on the past year, appreciating the journey we've traveled, and to embrace the upcoming year with a spirit of gratitude. His words served as a gentle reminder of the blessings we often overlook in our daily lives.
Our retreat was made even more special by the presence of a new member interested in joining the CLMs. Dr. Victoria, who was invited to participate in the retreat, joined us and expressed her happiness in being part of our community. Her enthusiasm and warmth were a wonderful addition to our gathering, and we were delighted to welcome her into our family.
The retreat was a day filled with meaningful activities, including Reflection and Confession. We began with personal reflection and confession, allowing us to cleanse our hearts and minds. Fr. Matewos led us in a beautiful Mass, which was a unifying and spiritually enriching experience for everyone present. We concluded the retreat by sharing a meal and coffee together.
In addition to the structured activities, the retreat provided us with valuable personal quiet time. This allowed each of us to engage in introspection and connect with our faith on a deeper level. Our retreat with the Cabrini Lay Missionaries was a day of spiritual renewal and communal joy. It offered us the opportunity to reflect on the past year, embrace the coming one with gratitude, and strengthen our sense of community.
