Youth with St. Cabrini: Pilgrims of Hope
Between July 28th and August 3rd, youth from the different provinces and region of the MSC institute are in Rome to engage in the spirituality of Mother Cabrini and the sacred Heart of Jesus, and to attend the Jubilee of Youth.
In these days, the members of the delegation from Eswatini, who are attending on behalf of the Holy Spirit Region, will share their journey with us.
Day 3
Today marked a significant day in our spiritual journey as pilgrims. We embarked on a sacred pilgrimage, passing through the Holy Doors of three magnificent Basilicas: St. Mary Major, St. Paul, and St. Peter. Each step we took was filled with reverence and reflection, allowing us to deepen our connection with God through the intercession of the Saints.
Our first stop was the Basilica of St. Mary Major. This ancient and splendid basilica, with its rich history and stunning mosaics, invited us to pause and reflect. As we walked through the Holy Doors, we were reminded of the grace and mercy that God extends to us, opening pathways for spiritual renewal.
Next, we visited the Basilica of St. Paul. Here, we were inspired by the Apostle Paul's teachings and his unwavering faith and also got to see the statue of Mother Cabrini who like St. Paul spread God’s goodness. The grandeur of this basilica, coupled with the profound sense of history, enriched our pilgrimage experience. Passing through the Holy Doors, we felt a sense of unity with fellow believers who have walked this path before us.
After passing through the Holy Door, we paid a visit to the statue of Mother Cabrini in the gardens of the Basilica. Like St. Paul, Mother Cabrini was a great missionary, going the extra mile to spread the goodness of God.
Our journey concluded at the Basilica of St. Peter, one of the most iconic symbols of faith. Standing in awe of its architectural beauty, we were reminded of Peter's role as the rock upon which the Church is built. Entering through the Holy Door here was a humbling experience, a moment of spiritual renewal and hope.
Throughout our pilgrimage, we held in our hearts those who are in need of our prayers. We offered our journey as a testament of faith for the entire world, invoking peace and healing. This pilgrimage was not just a personal journey but a collective one, uniting us in hope and compassion for all humanity.
In reflection, today was a beautiful encounter with the divine, a day that strengthened our spirits and connected us deeply with God and each other. As pilgrims of hope, we continue to carry the light of faith on this sacred journey.
