Youth with St. Cabrini: A Journey of Spirituality and Mission

Between July 28th and August 3rd, youth from the different provinces and region of the MSC institute are in Rome to engage in the spirituality of Mother Cabrini and the sacred Heart of Jesus, and to attend the Jubilee of Youth.

In these days, the members of the delegation from Eswatini, who are attending on behalf of the Holy Spirit Region, will share their journey with us.

Day 1

Today marked the official start of Cabrini Youth gathering, centered around the theme of Jesus Christ, spirituality, and mission that flows from His heart. It was a day filled with reflection, joy, and community. The day began with morning prayers, setting a serene tone for the events to follow. Our general superior, Sr. Maria Eliane Azevedo, MSC extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to everyone present. Her words resonated with kindness and encouragement, inviting us all to open our hearts to the experiences ahead.

Youth from Spain played a pivotal role in animating the day. They brought vibrant energy and enthusiasm, engaging everyone with various activities, games, and music. Their spirit was infectious, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and joy.

A highlight of the day was the joyous celebration of the Eucharist, led by Fr. Jerome Catubag, SDV. The service was a moment of reflection and unity, reminding us of the core values and teachings of Jesus Christ especially from todays Gospel of St. Matthew, Fr. Jerome’s Homily helped us understand the significance of God’s kingdom on earth and how God’s presence is so vivid among us.

As the day drew to a close, we gathered for Eucharistic adoration. This peaceful and contemplative time allowed us to connect deeply with our spirituality and the mission we are called to pursue. It was a fitting end to a day dedicated to reflection and community, leaving us renewed and inspired. The gathering today was not just an event but a journey, guiding us to look inward and reach outward with love and purpose. We look forward to the days ahead, carrying the spirit of today with us.
