First Day of Ongoing Sisters Formation in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Today marked the beginning of our three days ongoing sisters' formation, this is a significant journey for us as Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (MSCs) in the Holy Spirit Region. The theme of the day centered around a profound reflection on our Cabrinian Charism and Spirituality, essential elements that guide our mission and daily lives.

As MSCs, we are called to be bearers of Christ's Love in the world. Our Cabrinian charism, rooted in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, inspires us to be present in the communities/missions where we live and work. It is through this charism that we find the strength to extend our love and support to those in need, breaking barriers and building bridges of understanding.

Our spirituality is the foundation that sustains us on our religious journey. It is through both personal and communal prayer with reflection, that we deepen our relationship with God and strengthen our resolve to live out our charism. Our spirituality reminds us that we are not alone, and it provides a guiding light that leads us toward fulfilling our mission. In the communities we serve, our mission is to be a living witness of Christ's love.

Today's focus on our Charism and Spirituality encouraged us to continually reflect and renew our commitment to our Cabrinian identity. As we gather together these coming days, we continue sharing our insights and experiences reflecting deeply on how united as one body of Christ in the Cabrinian family and how each of our voice’s matters. May we continue to be inspired and guided by our charism and spirituality as we move forward, ever committed to being bearers of Christ's Love in a world that so deeply needs it.

Becoming one with Jesus was the constant theme of Frances Cabrini’s life. From the heart of Christ, she learned gentleness and humility. Simplicity drew her irresistibly because God speaks through the simple and humble of heart who walk in truth. This intimate and trusting relationship was given new life through the Eucharist, the living and personal presence of Jesus.
