Day 2: Being Consecrated for the Mission

Today marked the second day of our ongoing formation, a significant journey for us as Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. our discussions were more in-depth on the theme of being Consecrated women who are called for the Mission, exploring what it means to be called, and to respond to this divine invitation with open hearts.

Throughout the day, the Spirit of God was present, guiding our conversations and reflections. We engaged in both small group discussions and large group dialogues, each offering unique insights and fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

In our discussions, we focused on the profound commitment we make through our three vows of poverty, obedience, and chastity. We reflected on how these vows shape our lives and missions, emphasizing freedom inherent in both our call and our response. Our conversations were rich with personal experiences and collective wisdom, underscoring the strength and joy found in living a life dedicated to service.

The day came to an end with a lively Eucharistic celebration, led by Fr. Atakelit Tesfaye, SJ. This sacred mystery provided a moment of spiritual renewal and reflection, allowing us to come together in gratitude and prayer. During his homily, Father reminded us to advocate for the voiceless especially the refugees, immigrants and the poor. As we continue this journey of formation, we remain committed to living out our consecration with faith, courage, and joy, always seeking to serve with hearts full of love and compassion, the way Mother Cabrini did during her time.

As Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, women consecrated for mission, we witness to a transcendent love which enables us to love as Jesus did, without expecting any return or human satisfaction. We give ourselves to others without making distinctions, accepting those whose lives touch ours and learning to grow together in Christ
