Celebrating the end of the year with children at St. Frances Cabrini chapel, Eswatini

Since 2024, the MSC community in Eswatini has been visiting St. Frances Xavier Cabrini chapel, an outstation of St. Philip’s Parish, to engage in pastoral activities with children.

On December 6th, 2025, the Sisters and Postulants invited all children for an End-of-Year Party.

Stellamaris, one of the postulants who are at the beginning of their journey to become a sister, shares with us a recount of the day.

On December 6th, 2025, 38 children, the Sisters and Postulants, the Parish Priest of St. Philip’s, and Nokuthula Dlamini (one of the parishioners who works with us in this beautiful ministry), gathered at St. Frances Cabrini chapel to celebrate the end of the year. It was a memorable and fun-filled festive day.

The celebration began with the cheerful voices of the children laughter, songs, and prayers led by the Parish Priest followed by a brief talk on the Nativity and Christmas. The day continued with a drama presentation on the Birth of Jesus, performed by the Sisters and Postulants, aimed at bringing the Nativity story to life and entertaining the children. The children also joyfully participated in fun-filled games, both in teams and individually, and several gifts were awarded to the winners, alongside refreshments for all.

Following the activities of the day, the celebration came to a close with echoes of children’s laughter, joyful jingle bells song led by one of the Postulants, and the closing prayers and final blessings from the Parish Priest. After the success of the occasion, comments were received from the children excited and already looking forward to having another beautiful and special time together.
