Wallacha Youth Group's Spiritual Journey to Hawassa
The Feast of the Assumption of Mary was a day filled with joy and spiritual enrichment for the Youth Group from Wallacha, Ethiopia. Embarking on a journey to Hawassa, the group set off at 6 PM, their spirits high with the Holy Rosary and Spiritual songs.

After a night of travel, filled with anticipation and devotion, the group arrived in Hawassa at 4 AM. Their first stop was the serene St. Gabriel Church. The early morning visit provided a peaceful start to the day, allowing everyone to reflect and connect with their faith in a sacred space.
Following their time at the church, the group made their way to the stunning Lake Hawassa. Boarding a boat, the group continued their spiritual journey on the tranquil waters. They sang and gave thanks to God for the breathtaking beauty of creation surrounding them.
The day continued with a visit to a local park. Here, the group expressed their gratitude through song and thanksgiving, celebrating God's love with every note. The atmosphere was filled with joy, as they shared their faith stories joyfully with one another. Next, the group visited Kidane Mihret Church, where they prayed and captured memories with photos. This stop was another opportunity for reflection and connection, deepening their spiritual experience and creating lasting memories.
Finally, the Youth Group visited the Handmaids of the Church, a group of dedicated sisters who welcomed them warmly. The sisters offered coffee and requested the group to sing "Ayba Siki," a moment that beautifully highlighted the power of music and community. As the day drew to a close, the group began their journey back to Wallacha, their hearts full of gratitude and joy. They arrived home at 1:30 AM, enriched by the experiences and connections formed throughout the day.
