Final Day of our Global Assembly in Rome: A Seed of Hope in the World

The third and final day of our global assembly was held on October 12th, centered around the inspiring theme of “Our Mission: A Seed of Hope in the World.” The day began with a morning prayer, setting a reflective and hopeful tone for the events to follow.

We concluded our Global Assembly with a group photo at the end of our conference

Our facilitators, Sr. Imma de Stefanis and Sr. Reyna Gonzale RSCJ, guided us through the day's agenda. Sr. Imma delivered a captivating presentation exploring the distinction between a tourist, a visitor, and a pilgrim. This insightful presentation sparked engaging table discussions on how we, as individuals and as a community, have borne the seeds of hope in our various missions.

One of the day's highlights was an activity where participants planted seeds. This symbolic gesture served as both a witness and testimony to how we have sown seeds of hope in our consecrated lives, our missions, and the world. The activity was conducted on three levels: personal, provincial/region, and institute. It was a meaningful reminder of the impact each of us can have in nurturing hope.

In the afternoon, we continued sharing ideas and experiences related to being missionaries of hope, focusing on our mission to the church and the world. These discussions were both enlightening and motivating, reinforcing our commitment to our roles as bearers of hope. The conference concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from our general superior Sr. Maria Eliane Azevedo da Silva, who expressed gratitude to everyone who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of both the Jubilee of the consecrated life and the global assembly.

The day ended on a celebratory note with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Leonir Chiarello, superior general of the congregation of the missionaries of St. Charles Borromeo—the Scalabrinian (CS).

Following the Mass, we gathered for a joyous dinner featuring a delicious meal and a celebratory cake, marking the successful conclusion of our assembly. The final day of the global assembly was a profound reminder of our mission's power and the hope we can bring to the world through our collective efforts.
