MSCs in Eswatini Spreading Hope at the Malindza Camp

Over the past few months, a heartwarming initiative has taken root in Eswatini, where our sisters have been collaborating closely with Refugees at the Malindza Camp. This collaboration embodies the continuation of Mother Cabrini’s legacy of caring for the immigrants.

This Easter, the sisters took a significant step to ensure that the refugees at Malindza could take part in the joyful celebration of Easter season. They organized a food donation drive providing the camp's residents with the means to enjoy Easter like everyone else. This act of kindness was not just about providing sustenance; it was about sharing hope and fostering a sense of belonging among people who have faced countless challenges. Beyond addressing immediate nutritional needs, this initiative has fostered a sense of solidarity and inclusion. It serves as a reminder that they are not alone in their journey and that the local community stands with them.

While the Easter donation was a significant gesture, the needs of the refugees at Malindza continue. Ongoing support, whether through donations, prayers, volunteer works, or advocating for the refugees, is essential to ensure that these individuals can rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

The sisters' efforts in Eswatini are a shining example of how community involvement can make a tangible difference. By coming together, we can create a world where everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can enjoy the peace and joy that holidays like Easter represent.

Migrants and refugees can experience, along with difficulties, new, welcoming relationships which enable them to enrich their new countries with their professional skills, their social and cultural heritage, and not infrequently, their witness of faith, which can bring a new energy and life to communities of ancient and Christian tradition and invite others to encounter Christ and to come to know the Church
