On July 23rd, 2026, a momentous occasion unfolded in Sadama as our sisters hosted the blessing of the foundation for a new kindergarten. This significant event marked the beginning of a hopeful future for the young children of the community.
The blessing ceremony was graciously led by Fr. Adane Woldemariam, who stood in as a representative for Bishop Seyoum Fransua, the Catholic Apostolic Vicar of Hosanna. Unfortunately, Bishop Seyoum Fransua was unable to attend the occasion, but his spirit and intentions were conveyed through Fr. Adane’s heartfelt words and blessings.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests who came together to celebrate this community milestone. Among them were our sisters from Dubbo and the CEO of St. Mary Hospital and a mentor to leaders of different organizations/ministries within our region, Mr. Bongani Khumalo were the noted guests who brought a sense of solidarity and shared vision for the community’s educational development. The former and current Parish Priests of St. Anne Parish: Fr. Tarekegn Yohanes and Fr. Geziegn Mancha, joined by Fr. Gera, also attended, reflecting the strong ties and commitment of the church to the community’s welfare.
Representatives from the government were present as well, demonstrating the collaboration between the church and the government in fostering educational opportunities. The residents of Kokailla filled the event with warmth and enthusiasm. Their attendance underscored the community’s dedication to the educational advancement of their children.
The blessing of the new kindergarten foundation is a beacon of hope and progress for our mission in Sadama. It symbolizes a joint effort by religious, governmental, and community leaders to invest in the future of the children. With the support of all involved, this project is set to become a cornerstone of education and development in the region.
