Bringing the “Education of the Heart” to life in Ethiopia

Mother Cabrini used to talk of the “Education of the Hearts”, an engaging method that goes beyond learning and promotes a holistic growth.

This is why at Cabrini Ministries Ethiopia (CME) education goes beyond teaching: it is a collective effort of our teachers, who create a conducive learning environment, of children, who attend with commitment, of parents, who engage in their children school life and monitor their progress, of managers, who keep strengthening our school services.

The first two years in our kindergartens in Ethiopia adopt the Montessori method, to foster a smooth cognitive development according to each children age and capabilities. The last year follows the national preschool curriculum to ensure children have solid foundation to succeed in primary school.

We engage the parents of our pupils in regular meetings, to raise awareness on early childhood development and engage them in their follow up.

We also support our staff in developing and upgrading their skills, by providing training in their respective working areas, such as teaching methodology, early childhood development assessment, and basic computer skills.

Thanks to our commitment and efforts, our schools have become a role model in the regions, and we were able to share our experience with other public and private schools.

Our work has also been acknowledged by local education authorities, who commended the quality of our services and the excellent results achieved.
