Expanding women promotion programs in Dubbo, Ethiopia

Between June 15th and the 30th, the Admin team of Cabrini Ministries Ethiopia (CME) was in Dzaipi, Uganda, for an experience sharing visit to Heart Ministries Uganda (HMU).

The visit aimed to gain insights and practical knowledge on the women promotion and empowerment activities implemented by HMU, in order to support the inititation and development of a similar program in Dubbo, Ethiopia.

During the visit, Sr. Berhane Ashebo, CME Executive Director, and Mrs. Senait Sintayehu, CME Finance Manager, engaged in several hands-on activities and practical sessions including shoe making, poultry farming, and liquid soap production.

The team could learn technical aspects of different types of business, as well as observe how these activities can significantly contribute to the economic independence of women and youth, thus also boostering their confidence and leadership potential in their communities.

Once back in Dubbo, the team already started engaging women in shoe making and embroidery, expanding CME’s efforts to empower economically women and youth.
