Celebrating 60 Years of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Nairobi, Kenya
On the 12th of December 2025, the novitiate community in Nairobi, Kenya, joined the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in a joyous celebration marking 60 years of its presence in the country. This milestone was a special occasion filled with heartfelt celebrations, blessings, and thanksgiving.
The anniversary provided an opportunity for reflection on the past six decades of spiritual guidance and community service. Parishioners, clergy, and guests gathered to honor the rich history and enduring legacy of the parish.
The highlight of the day was a grand celebratory mass, attended by hundreds of faithful. The church was adorned with beautiful decorations, reflecting the joy and solemnity of the occasion. The mass was presided over by the general superior of Guadalupe Fathers, Fr. Zacarias Romo, MG, who delivered an inspiring homily that underscored the importance of faith and service connecting everything to the apparition of our Lady of Guadalupe.
Following the mass, some of the parishes where the Guadalupe Fathers serve offered their speeches of gratitude for the good work the fathers have done in their areas of mission. After the religious ceremonies, the celebrations continued with a vibrant community gathering. The parish grounds were filled with music, dance, and laughter as families and friends came together to enjoy the festivities. Traditional Kenyan dishes were served, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the country.
