Helping youth reach their full potential
From August 24th to September 11th, 2026, 39 students (18 girls and 21 boys from S.1 to S.4) participated in a three-week holiday program organized by Heart Ministries Uganda.
The program, conducted during the holiday between the second and third term, offered remedial classes in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and English, followed by progress tests, as well as counselling and mentorship to foster their holistic well-being.
Counselling helped learners manage emotions, process grief or trauma from family loss, handle peer pressure, and build confidence.
A session on reproductive health prepared both boys and girls for bodily changes, emphasizing how to stay safe and healthy.
A career orientation session helped students understand how to select subjects in view of their professional development and how to get ready for the job market.
Participants were also engaged in practical activities and learned how to craft bracelets and rosaries.
Throughout the program, students were assigned specific tasks, such as class presenters, timekeepers, meal coordinators, and spiritual leaders, to strengthen their leadership skills.
